Just bought my first Zouave rifle been wanting one for 25 years or more later part more likely I have thought they are such a beautiful work of art it almost perfect except some scuffing around rhe bands it was missing the ramrod bought some 3/16 steel rod and turned a 1/2in rod down and shaped it to look like the real thing silver soldered it on threaded the end 5x.80mm now planning to wait for a warm day, does anyone have any suggestions? Done a lot of blackpowder shooting but nothing with muskets

I've no actual experience with these, but I've read accuracy is tied to bullet vs bore diameter. Post pics when you have a chance! SW

Your welcome, I do need to do something about the front sight it shoots way too high at 50 yards 70 grains of 2f goex blackpowder Either patched round ball or a 472 grain minie ball shoots over a ft high

Well I finally made a sight and soldered it on, it don't look quite right but it should help I made a straight blade it adds about little more than an 1/6" higher. Now for getting a chance to try it out.

Sorry it took so long I forgot to put a posting of my update.well it's better but still couple inches high but still. It doesn't like lees hollow base bullet i thought about paper patching the bullet with a thin paper because the bullet wobbles in the bore the barrel is very good, it shoots patch round balls very well

Try Dixie and search for minie bullets, hollow base spreads and engages rifleing. You have the same problem my brother did till started using minie bullets.

Thanks, didn't think of looking for any, thought I make them trying to be cheap, it would be nice to know if it shoots them accurately.
