I don't know why but I have always loved 30' 30's. That was my first hunting rifle caliber.

I just had it Parkerized. It's a 1965 model, wasn't taken care of and got all pitted. It shot straight and functioned perfectly, so....................I dolled her up some.

Great article, thanks for taking the time to write it. Jeez I love this forum. Sometimes my flinter buddies don't understand my affection for the "modern stuff" (anything that takes a cartridge). They don't know what their missing!

I do love the lever actions. I just picked up a marlin in 30 30, I have a Winchester from 1897 I got from a guy, it was re blued at some point, but the wood and parts were all original. I could not believe he took my $200 for it.

Here is one That was just sold from my local gun dealer, I put it on the web for him. the bids had gone up to $1375 before I noticed the barrel had a bulge about 2 inch from the muzzle. The previous owner said he had dropped it in the mud and then shot it. He let it go for $750.
