I could not pass up the deal on the Cimarron Uberti 62 Police Pocket. Bill's case, Giraffe bone grips and accessories for the cost of the revolver. This makes number seven pocket Colt. I really like these in .36.

Giraffe bone? Odd. I ordered some knifemaking stuff & see that camel bone is offered as knife handles.

Never could understand the ban on sambar stag. They shed their antlers which are simply picked up - then they grow new ones. And are fed well with mineral supplements so they grow big hat racks.

Our gov't - idiots. SW

I had never heard of using Giraffe bone before I saw this pistol. It has the look and feel of Ivory. hard to capture a photo of the grain with my cheap camera.

The ban on Ivory, tusk, Alaskan artifacts is a big hammer for a tiny problem IMHO,

I used to see Wooly Mammoth ivory advertised as a substitute for elephant ivory.
Mammoth being already long extinct harvesting their ivory from permafrost would have no effect on a still living species.
I saw a Shaman's hut at the field museum made completely of Mammoth bones, interlinked to form a dome of great strength.
Theres probably more Mammoth remains in Siberia than there are Elephants in the entire world these days.

I have a small lockblade pocket knife my nephew found in a parking lot. One grip scale was broken off, I made a wooden replacement.
The remaining original scale looked odd so I looked it up, its Porpoise bone. The knife was made in Japan where porpoise weren't considered protected.

Thats a beautiful little pistol. I'd intended to get a Pocket Police .36 one day, that and a Remington .31 pocket revolver.
