Need some help from some of you who may know something about these rifles. Just aquired this rifle but cannot find much about the specific rifle I have. Like the title says, it's a Stevens Model 76A Buckhorn Rifle. Mine has the stock similar to the Garand and thats where I'm stuck. The only pics/info I can find are with the regular rifle stock. Anyone have any info???? There is no serial # that I can find and I've had it completely stripped down.

These were made to appeal to people familiar with military arms post-WW2. Marlin did the same with a 22 that resembles an M1 Carbine.

Send a PM to ol'tom - he's our resident Stevens guru.

And!! Welcome to the site! Goofing around and cutting up are greatly encouraged!

1936 STEVENS Buckhorn .22 Rifle, these were the rifles with a black forearm tip, supposed to resemble the 'horn' mat'l on expensive rifles then. Strange, but true...Frank Buck was a hero guy that at the time people knew...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Buck_Zoo
He was a 'great white hunter' and signed his name to sell the rifles....I had some of the adds with him and his pith helmet.... ;)
He later opened a zoo and became a animal protector I guess...........anyhow, the stevens with Buckhorn stamped on the underside of the barrels are collectors now....get 10-20% more $$$ for them...but they are the same manufactured barrels as the other stevens....

some goods....just placed in a 'mini-skirt' to sell them :rotflma:

kinda makes me think of Paris........but dosen't EVERYTHING????? :kap: :kap: :kap:
