i have a ruger single six , its labeled 22cal , so if i understand correctly its a magnum version which is what it chambers , it has target sights and smooth walnut grip scales with silver on black roundel , its an early three screw without the transfer bar , round gate version , What happens when you shoot .22LR in the .22 Mag cylinder? i realise the bore is oversized but in the convertables that must be what is used for both , the issue is when i tried to look it up in serial chart ...it does not exist , its clearly serial numbered on right side below the cylinder 61-09734 , but the new models start at 62-xxxxx in 1973, and the old models end in 1969 with 824407 , i note the old model super single six in 22LR go to 60-81278 in 1972 and the chhart clearly says 22LR , but this is definitely a magnum , the cylinder is [maybe im missing the LR cylinder for a convertable?] what date would this be correctly attributed to , and why doesnt the info include the "target model" ? |

I would say it is missing the lr cylinder. My single six # starts with 62. I get good accuracy with 22lr also. Rad |

yes , im coming to that conclusion myself , what really confuses me is that one model serial string ends in 60-xxxx... and the other begins with 62-xxxx... and mine falls right between but is big enough to sugest they should fall into one of the model groups |
