(Morris tube)
Finally done.
I wasn't sure where to put it so the whole thing is in the Lee Enfield forum, but I thought some here might be interested.

Thanks, Now I have to see how she shoots, I'm really hoping she likes the CCI "Std Velocity", mostly because when she was used there were no high velocity, lightweight, bullet loads for the .22 R/F.

how many different brands / loads / options do you have available ?

this has always been an issue for me , although i have a lot , most are old enough that ill not be finding a lot match anymore , so i just try some - then shoot what works till its gone , then try again , the bad part of having a deep stock is that its not new and readily available , my downside is i have some stocks that are 30 years old

I have 4 on hand.
A few bricks of Remington "Thunderphart" high velocity (40 Gr @ 1225 FPS). Yeah I know but the 10-22 thrives on them.
& both standard (40 gr @ 1070 FPS), & high velocity CCI.(40 Gr @ 1235FPS). Then I have 2 boxes of "Eley Target", also std velocity.

From memory std velocity .22 RF, such as CCI Standard Velocity .22 LR ammunition is rated at 1,070 ft/s (330 m/s).) is very much quieter than the high velocity stuff because of the lack of sonic boom in the signature, its not just quieter, there's a different sound to it too.
If none of them really stand out I may buy a box of subsonics just to play.
Those bores were made back before the high velocity, light bullets loads were invented anyway so I'm assuming they're designed with that in mind as standard loads.

Oh they're dirty, but a responsible owner cleans anyway.
Don't know beyond that.

agreed , i have a lot of boxes of 50 , all sorts of brands and all sorts of weights , i used to think all 22s were the same - so some of these date to the 60s and every decade after , many are partials - nothing anyone might plan an accuracy testing on but great ful to just shoot up with hope in your heart and a dedicated eye on the target ,

basic plinking amo , minute of beer can , my kind of shooting ...........i realize some of you play a lot harder , but im not that guy , not spending that time , nor ..since we cant reload 22s ever gonna expect better than the rifle/handgun can produce less the ammo quality. less the shooters ability , which equals near mine ,
