ok, my local gun shop has a Walther made DSM 34 trainer rifle, I think the price is a little high , but I can't seem to find any to compare value, also I am not sure how rare they areI also found a mauser made one for $389 . whos got one? lets see some pics. and who has knowledge about them. I searched the web and found all the basics, know I need values and rarity level. here is a link to the walther .

its a pretty one and id love to have one but $950 is too much , about a third would be my high guess and id think less ,

having said that id get one if i could , for a decent price , and hope it was that nice

The DSM-34 (Deutsche Sport Modell) was manufactured by a number of rifle makers, including Walther. In 1939, the DSM was superceded by the KKW (Klein Kaliber Wehrsportgewehr), but both are modeled after the military K98k.

The term "German Training Rifle" is a generic term for a number of different sport/training rifles that were made during the Nazi era. They were made in 4mm, 4.5mm, and 5.4mm (.22).

J.G. Anschutz made some beautiful rifles in this category. When you look at, say, a 4mm Wehrsportkarabiner, you know they spent at least as much time (or more) making one of these as the work that went into an actual infantry rifle.

...I guess this is one that fits in the German Training category........I've been trying to dig up more info on it.....

It might. The French took over the Mauser Oberndorf factory in 1945, and at the time, KKW's were still being manufactured to some degree and/or parts of unfinished KKW's were found in the plant. Not long after, the French removed the Mauser machinery to France and took all the parts inventory and unfinished arms with them. K98k's, P.38's and other Mauser-manufactured arms were made in France for a little while with these materials.

Well I passed on the one that my local guy has , for now, I may go back and try to work him way down on the price. I did go to another local guy and pick up this mauser made Trainer, all matching. The only issue is it has some rust on the butt plate from improper storage. BUt still , at $389 I thought it was a good deal. I will be shooting it saturday. Here are some pics.

gotta agree , thats a beauty - id be proud to have one of those in my cabinet
