i cant imagine being without them , if you had to downsize what do you keep ?

ive posted this question in a COUPLE PLACES but im looking at all my areas of interest and sizing up the very real possibility i might have to make hard decissions one day - its not so much if as when , we all eventually have to downsize [OK riceone is very fortunate] just something i need to think about

i see your point - im inclined to feel the same - cant take up that much room - ammo is cheap-and takes no room at all , could provide decent food if required , all around keeper ,

if the SOWHTF[insert "on whitey"here] - need both the defence weapon and the food proivider ,

the stevens iron sighted bolt rifle, a brick of 22, water, knife,firestarter mat'l, canned food, extra clothes. and GOOD SHOES.
i used to backpack yearly up the appalacian trail in the smokeys for my vacation, and 55lbs of stuff kept me very confey over a week~ i was younger then, but i could still walk out if need.....

now i think, if i had to stay put, get with the neighbors, organize, share, and wait on the nat'l guard......we have done this twice in the past 15yrs....ice storm once, and floods. both times, no power or water for days.....nobody in the area went w/o, nobody raped and looted.....cause we have decent farm folks, and EVERYONE has guns.....

the guard brought water, and generators..... i took oxygen tanks out, rigged gravity sets for my enteral patients.....but it shore was nice to get heated water again and take a shower instead of 'sponge baths"!
