Between CCI, Ferderal, Remington, S&B and Winchester, I've gotten the best groups with CCI Mini Mags in my 10/22 and TC Benchmark. I haven't tried any of the target stuff.
The down side is the Minin Mags were the most expensive of what I tried.

It also depends on what you are going to use them for. If it is strictly for target shooting I would try some of the target rounds. If it's for plinking/hunting I would go to Walmart and get the Federal 550 bulk boxes. On my last trip to Walmart I picked up 5 boxes, not to stock up on I already went through 2 of them.

Winchester Wildcats jam in my 10/22. I still have a few but only use them in a revolver. I used some when breaking in my Ruger Charger and a couple of them only went fffsst. I had to check the barrel to make sure the bullet wasn't stuck.

The only purpose is to but away just in case! I and a friend both have bull barrel 10/22's and we want to stock up on the ammo for what ever. I insist that what ever they are that they be jacket and not just lead. Cleaner that way.

Well we went out and fired 4 types of ammo at 100 yards bench rest with scopes.

Remington std 550 box
Federal JHP 550 box
CCI mini mag
Aguilia match

Of all the ammo the Remington worked well for me and the Federal worked for him with Remington a close second. The CCI amd Aguilia was not impressive at all. The Federal was jamming in his so we went out and cleaned Wal Mart's shelf of the Remington 550 boxes
