I picked up these 3 rifles from my FFL, yesterday. I Believe these were confiscated guns from the Police Dept. Anyway, from top to bottom are, Meriden Model 15 JC Higgins model 41 (Sears gun) Stevens Model 15A I know that I will have a hard time finding stocks for the bolt actions, but I could pass then up for $20 a piece. Any ideas on were to find the stocks? strangms |

Odd the previous owners just cut the stocks down & not the barrels, too. Must be for road poaching. SW |

The JC Higgins had a property tag that said, Charges: Manufacture and sell of Sch.6 So I'm guessing it belonged to a drug dealer. strangms |

The Meriden is a nice looking rifle, just needs a very good cleaning. Action is sloppy, but maybe I can help that. Wood is in nice shape also. Here is some information on the company that made it. The Meriden Firearms Company was formed when Sears Roebuck purchased the Andrew Fryberg & Sons firearms manufacturing plant in 1903 and moved the plant and machinery to Meriden, Connecticut, circa 1904. The company started manufacturing firearms circa early 1905. Around 1906 Sears acquired a Savage-held patent for the Model 15 slide-action .22 rifle that was not introduced until 1913. During 1918 Sears announced that the Meriden Firearms Company would discontinue the manufacture of sporting firearms. I thought it would go good with my old Stevens that my Dad gave me. strangms |
