Yesterday's Weapons Forums

I live in an old farm house circa 1840. Today, when looking for one of those items which you put where you will remember the location - I found this old box of ammo. I still haven't found what I was looking for. What do I have? Is it worth anything? My wife who is an arts and crafts type - thinks the box is neat and already thinking of ways she can use it. I told her she would have hold her thoughts for the time being. I have more photos, just haven't figured out how to get more on to the page. Thanks for your help.

I see the head stamps vary. A collector may be willing to pay you $25 for the box and ammo, but it's not rare or a money maker.

The necks will spontaneously split on these. I have some old 30USA ammo that was good when I got it but all has split necks now. SW

howdy appears to be a vintage box of 30 us or Krag ammo, really neat

im agreeing - mixed bag of 30-40 krag , a collector with a prairie belt would like to have them ,

the box is a cool item , not sure you will make big bucks but these arent being made anymore , seems a shame to relegate a vintage box to arts and crafts when there are folks that would love to display with their rifles , but thats just me sayin .........
