Photo of me is 2 years ago, but used the same rifle, and same set-up today. Got up late, so I only took 40 rds, and used half the range time to socialize and see what others were shooting.
The best targets of the day below.

In case some of you've noticed, I usually snip targets where they gun grouped well, and data them. I have a file cabinet with a manila folder on just about every rifle I shoot. I staple the targets of the day for that rifle together and slip them into the folder. Thus, if in the event I want to sell, or just check, I have clear examples of what the rifle can, or can not do.

I've been keeping looseleaf notebooks for each of my rifles for a lot of years. I do all of my testing prone. Test targets get pasted in, or just three-hole punched and added in:

I have "pocket pages" to hold the score/data books with match data:

So I have a record of my triumphs

... and also my flops

WOW, you do that for all your rifles? I would loose track of mine as I tend to take 4 rifles or more when I go out. Yours is a great idea
;)

Yes, I keep track of all of my rifles this way. "Occasional shooters" only get a tabbed section in a notebook.

"Regular competitors", get their own notebook. And some that I have owned for a long time, like the 03A3 in the example, have more than one notebook.

BTW, I save "bad" groups, too. It keeps me from trying to reinvent the wheel. The system helps me keep track of zeros and round counts on a barrel, too.

that appears to be a very organised way of doing it , i like the idea , now to try to apply something similar to my range style - a bit spontaneous depending on the way the day is going
