Thanks For Previous Info, I think my Grandfather added those peep sights, Why I dont know. Also has a baynet coming with it. Id like to add a scope to it, Anyone have any recomendations for it? Also If and when I add a scope I will have to get a curved bolt correct? Thanks Again I cant wait to get this gun and clean her up

If the receiver was drilled to get that sight on, then the collector value is shot. If you can put back the original type rear sight, then it is salvagable as a collector. Putting a scope on will sure as anything ruin collector value. Never the less, it is your gun and you can do as you want. Your photos don't show the whole gun so I can't comment as to the originality of the rest of the gun. What happened to the first 2 posts?Or were that first question posted in another place?

my sentiments as well , if its already D&Td for the target sight [which looks a bit like the one for the 22 trainer BTW] you have a shooter , its got no collector value to loose so scope makes sence and i would never disuade you as my eyes are to the point i need them for anything over 50yds , you should be able to get a decent price for the target sight if you remove it too

I am not that familiar with sight values of that type. Redfields are $150, but those small Williams type sights I don't think are worth more than $35. If the dovetail hasnt been flattened or ground, you can always put the original type rear sight back on. If you are going to keep it, you can always fill the holes with JB weld whose color would not be too far off from the parkerizing. B-Square made gunsmithless mounts. Maybe someone else knows of other brands. If the dovetail is ground, there are some wonderful epoxies that will probably work, just good enough to make it look original. and if prepared right, probably would hold up to recoil.

Yeh not sure if the Stock sights are around anymore, this gun has been collecting dust for years, Ill check out everything I get sent from my fathers house, theres alot of stuff I have'nt seen in years, Hopefully they are in there. I read the B-Square mount is so jacked up you have to end up shimming and bending the mount to get it even close to over the bore of the rifle. I also have a A 1903A3 Bolt that has been milled to Look and act as a 1903A4 bolt with the curve and not hit my scope if I use normal sight rings.
