Attention New Members and those new registering!
We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username.
If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7.

Thanks for joining us from the administration.

This is a scan of a request document for purchasing a surplus 1903 Springfield rifle. Since the NRA is specifically mentioned on the back of the form, it must have been part of the process for purchase of a DCM rifle at that time (1955). The rifle that was purchased using this document was sold to a member of the US Army and I don't know if they could purchase direct from the government without the requirement to be an NRA member.

The subject M1903 rifle was a well-used but perfectly serviceable example. It was originally made in WW1, but had a 1934 barrel date on it. What was left of the finish was blue, so it had never been reworked during WW2 or thereafter.

Note the total remittance price of $17.85.

I believe that serial number range falls into the MK1 range......wish the DCM 03 that I have from the 80's had it. I believe that equates to about $100 now, maybe a little more..

No, I don't have this rifle any longer. I got it from a co-worker who just wanted to get rid of it. His father-in-law had purchased it in Germany from the Lieutenant in 1957. It did not have the Mark I cut in the receiver. I sold it rather quickly, not really wanting to keep it at the time. The coworker gave me the paperwork after I had sold the gun, and I was never able to track down the guy I sold it to in order to turn it over to him. Too bad; it's always nice to any available provenance on an old weapon.
