started this build in late Oct. and so far have OOW (Ohio ordanance works) complete barreled M16A1 Colt upper with SAK barrel ,birdcage FH,and teardrop BFA and A1 sights & triangular HG's (circa 1972) GC $250.00 , A1 PG & E series early A1 trapdoor butstock & spare set of A1 triangular HG's $19.95 from Northridge International, Doublestar Lower reciever $85.00 (Group Buy) ,Big Reno Gun Show provided new CH $15.00 , new Buffer tube, $15.00 & new buffer spring $3.00 (all from sherluc) , nam era USGI buffer $14.00, Mystery Plastic baggie deal of Complete used LPK and new A2 PG and much needed(For California compliance) used DPMS 10 round AR mag all for $25.00, and used dark olive USGI M14 sling $9.00, correct A1 stock screw $1.00 and now I'm looking to finish Job with a New Bolt & BB and Used Carrier & to stay on budget !

sounds like a wonderfull project , and very rewarding , your well into it and i for one will be looking forward to your photos , take some as you go please ,

when i did mine it took me most of a year , but well worth it , i was just messing with it last night , id found a couple tiny vintage bits that i stuck in and or am checking what i need to install them ,

i put a ceinar conversion in it - it shoots very well with the 1/12 chrome bore

I see bullet holes in that target, but nothing that looks like bayonet holes.
