Having a purchase buddy that's got issues, it appears I have neglected my new Mosin Nagant 91/30!
Here's my newest addition:







I know squat about Mosins other than one kicked my tail years ago. I'm still working up the guts to take it to the range. Lots of goo needs to be removed first, so hopefully that battle will win me over and I'll shoot it.

1943. A time when they were worried about getting weapons to the front instead of taking the time with nice machining. This is evidenced by the rough finish of this particular weapon. Good 'wartime' acquisition!

Great buy Wolf.
Just clean her up a bit, talk to her for a couple of minutes and then take her to the range.
You will be hooked after the first shot and before you know it you'll have a bunch of these beauties.
Trust me......I know.

...yup.....like Pringles-ya cant have just one....addicting...and they multiply like Wabbits .......I started with 1 and lookie what happened so far... ....only thing preventing more is "fun money"... ...but the history of the Finn'd make them my favorite...including a Finn'd N.E.W. with the original stock

Herr Mario, yeah, I believe it! I'm already looking at another one and I haven't cleaned or shot the one I just got!!!

Well, a customer of mine dropped off a bag of ammo for the Mosin Nagant so I could go shoot it. LOL! Once I get over this cold/creeping crud I'll start cleaning it out and prepping for some range time.

Obviously you don't shoot Austrian straight pulls. Mosins are pussycats compared to the M95.

I thought I was getting overloaded with just 4. (Now I can get more)

The shop I work at just got 20 hex receiver laminate stock versions in. I'm up to four Mosins now, trying to not let myself buy a fifth one.

I have the opposite problem. Whenever I think about acquiring a new one, I just work on the one I have!

I think I'm afraid of getting one that will not shoot as well as this one. The bore is perfect for a Russian (o.299" x o.3095") and I've got an M-39 type trigger on it. It's minute-of-angle, which, as you know, is not typical for Russians.

Been thinking about another carbine. I had a 1944 M44 as my first centerfire rifle, but I didn't see the point as it weighed as much as a 91/30. I would not mind finding an M38 or M91/59.
