Just picked up my 1942 Izhevsk M91/30 last Friday in the former DDR.
I cleaned it a bit( wasn't that dirty) and made some close-up pictures of the stamps under the wood line.
I document every weapon I have like that.
Got the pictures both on line and printed out on paper.
I yet have to take some pictures of the "exterior".
I tested the M91/30 on a range in Germany right after I bought it using reloaded ammo from a friend who accompanied me.
Even though the bullets were .308 the rifle performed fine.
I think when I use .311 casted bullets the rifle will even perform better.
Will keep you posted on this.

I'm very happy with this one.
It's rearsenaled and the barrel is in great condition.
Should be a great shooter with the .311 casted bullets.

The answer on that is NO.
Our law is very strict on this subject.
You either shoot or you collect, but you can not shoot with the weapons on your collectors license.

I know I've said this before, but I can live with these rules.
Stick to them and much can be done.
It just takes lots of time and paperwork (compared to US rules and regulations).

Nice weapon Martin! Is it a repair or is it a normal splice? I have seen lots of these with the splice. I think it was the only way to get a big enough chunk of wood to make a stock.
