Just before we went on vacation I received my Hungarian Mosin Nagant .22LR trainer.
I promised some pictures, so here they are.
As you might have noticed, it doesn’t look like any other Mosin Nagant at all.
Only the shape and place of the bolt handle remotely resemble that of the other Mosin Nagant rifles or carbines.
I’m really happy to have this Hungarian trainer in my collection.
They are not that rare, but you don’t see them very often.
I also got a phonecall from the gundealer who sold me a Polish Mosin Nagant trainer.
He received the money and the necessary paperwork, so I hope to have that one at my doorstep at the end of this week.

I too have never seen one of them around here and I travel a lot to far away gun shows. Neat looking little piece!

How badly do they gouge you over there on ammo?

I bought this rifle from a German collector.
They are allowed to shoot with the weapons in their collection and he told me these were very accurate.
Sure would like to give it a try myself though.

You asked about questions on .22 LR ammo.

Click on “prijslijsten” and "munitie" to see more ammo prices or on “gebruikte vuurwapens” for pictures and prices of used weapons.
Multiply the price in Euros by 1.3 to get the price in US$.

Prices do vary a lot and not every gun dealer sells all the different brands.
I buy the CCI .22LR standard velocity at the gun club and the American Eagles .22LR in Arnhem or at a gun dealer in Germany.
Sometimes it’s cheaper there and Germany is only a 30 minutes drive from my hometown.
I have to apply for an export license when I buy ammo in Germany though (So much for a united Europe ).
It doesn’t cost anything; it just takes more time and paperwork.
