I like the rifle, but should I get a rifle or a carbine first?

Choose the one with the better looking bore if you're going to shoot for accuracy. If you want strictly collectability then original condition, condition, condition would be the option. The long rifles seem easier to aim and are more comfortable for me. If you can, get one of each while they're still very affordable.

In fact if you see any Finn rifles that are reasonable buy them.

the carbine will beat your soulder. I always take people to shoot that the first time I bring them to the range. Oh the look on their faces. I wish I had photos
