Well I'm getting crazy and shopping alot now for Older rifles. The new ones don't really excite me; I carried them, shot them and slept with them for 5 years while I was in the Marine Corps, Something about the look of these I like and the prices are great! I'm hoping someone can point me in the direction or let me know about these and there experiences with them, Range Durability, Accuracy. Looking at the Russian Nagant Mod. 91/30 Izhevsk,RUSSIAN M44 1945 IZHEVSK,Russian Mosin Nagant 1943 Izhevsk M38, Only diffrence I see in these is the stocks, but I'm reading more, Thanks guys. |

Welcom to the boards shooter! My only words of advice are "Think M-39" The first and last Mosin you will ever need or want. I use them to make a living, litteraly. ![]() |

Welcome aboard shooter. Keep looking for info on these rifles and carbines and you will find out that they are weapons with a fantastic history attached to them. I even dare to say that they made history. I'm no expert, but together we know a lot and there's always someone on this forum that can answer your question or point you in the right direction. Met vriendelijke groet, Martin |

The M39's are great but expensive around here in my part of the country (Iowa). I personally like the M44, they are cheap and plentiful. I've had mine for about six months now and am very happy with it. |

Basic Russian models started with the M91 Long rifle ![]() They had Dragoon Lengths as well And a 1907 Carbine Then came the 91/30 (Basically dragoon length, improved sight), ![]() M38 carbine ![]() M44 carbine (folding bayonet) ![]() then other countries cut down 91/30' to M38 length (M59) Swede I have to disagree. 7,62 X 54r ammo is both plentiful & cheap Not sure about AIM but SOG & Century both have light & heavy ball in sealed cans cheap. Also you can buy reloadable 'Wolf Gold' (Actually made by Prvi Partisan) pretty cheap as well. |
