A couple of months ago I bought myself a Mosin Nagant 91/30 PU sniper built in 1944.
The date goes for the rifle only.
The scope and mounting are post war, but of fantastic quality.

You can tell by the way the rifle looks that it is a war production rifle.
I like my rifles like this….full of scars and used by a soldier who knew what to do with it.
I wish this rifle could tell its life story.

Here are a couple of pictures

And some pictures of the scope and mounting, just to test the new camera.

Thanks Pete.
This one is on my collectors license, so I can't take her to the range.
I did fire a few shots with this one before I bought it in Germany.
Fine shooter I must say.
How does its Texan brother perform :?:

Met vriendelijke groet,

Martin

"Russian junk" ???????
I sure could use junk like that Pete. :D

You are right about the bullets.
Before I bought my PU sniper I tried on a 100 meter range in Germany.
They had all kinds of ammo, but the ones with the heavy bullets performed best.

Great looking rifle my friend.

Met vriendelijke groet,

Martin

I have a couple of them and find they all seem to have natures and likings of their own. One likes any ammo I have put down it, one likes nothing and will require more time to see what is going on, and the other I have fired is prone toward the heavy ball and real touchy when I adjust it. That is certainly a nice one. Have you checked the mounts and plates to see if they are all steel? I have a kit which I planned to use on the one sniper I have that is minus a scope which turns out to have a pot metal mounting plate. It really bugs me as I bought this many years ago at a show and there is no way I could trace it back to anyone. If I had only tested the thing with a magnet I would have spotted it! It sure is a shame you guys can't shoot what you collect over there as I just salivate when a range day is approaching. Well Thanks for the sharing of pictures and Congrats on a nice one! :D
