I thought this one was interesting. Must have been taken after the Russkys got their butts severely kicked about mid-1915. Not sure if this is a firing squad. :-o

What's German for "Listo... A-punte.... FUEGO!!"? SW

I posted this on another site and have been told the troops are Landwehr (sp) of the 21st Regiment somewhere in Belgium. They do seem a bit well-fed to be straight from the trenches.

That and kinda old... the meatgrinder of the trenches was not a place to age gracefully.

The unhappy soul? Possibly a criminal. I was told a deserter would have been in chains and on his way to becoming target practice for the reserve boyz. :-o SW
