A guy I buy guns from has a Russian sniper rifle that he says is the real deal , not one of the put togethers. I cant find any info for identifying these rifles and determining if they are the real deal. he wants $450 for it. please any help would be great. I don't have any pictures.

Ok, my friend said he got the rifle back in the 80's. it has a real scope mount and scope and the target and paperwork to go with it. I am going to check it out before I get it but I need to make sure its a fair deal.

Even if it's a recently put together rifle, I don't see how you could possibly lose money on the deal. I'm seeing people bid big on some real junk right now so I figure a functional Mosin-Nagant advertised as recently put together sniper rig would still sell if you didn't want it.

If it's an actual sniper and the throat or bore aren't shot out, it's a steal! Let us know how it turns out. SW

Well century's got the snipers on sale for $379 right now. I keep trying to meet up with this guy and see what he has before I do anything.

I got a look at the rifle today, there is what appears to be a lined out scope number on the left side of the barrel shank. the mount looks like it might be a repo, and the scope has a strange 1959 date with a square in the middle. I can't find any info with pics online about these.

Most of the real snipers that came in during that period of time where real ones that were refurbed. They had electric penciled scope mounts. Be careful some are now being imported with electric penciled mounts but are recently assembled. The Russians are on the Internet too.
