....Herr Shellmeister and I decided to split a crate of AIM's Polish 7.62x52R on chargers...he needed chargers...(well I could use a few )....but I wanted the crate ....I was suprised when it showed up today,and the ammo and crate were dated '53' ...dang-made same year as me ......so I couldnt resist-hadda take a quick pic (even if it is cellcam ) of it along with my 1953 Hungarian M-44 and my 1953 CZ-52....I suppose you get the drift

Kinda makes a feller think twice about shooting surplus ammo. Not that I doubt it's safety, but it's just kinda interesting to shoot something that is as old or older than you.

I saw that add for Aim just the other day. I may have to spring for a case myself. I could use some real chargers myself. I have some aftermarket stuff that Tapco had some years ago. They don't work as they should.

Considering the ammo was made the same year as you...it is so much better preserved.

y'all need to learn to reload if your really into shooting some groups .there is nothing better than controling your own ammo supply.

short story,even when milsurp was dirt cheap I was reloading for my rifles.I bought a bunch of laupa,norma,hanson and graf brass when it was alot cheaper than now for my mosins.
185 gr lrngc bullet
19.0 grs AA5744
laupa brass
win lr primer.

a gr of pounder is .00285 X 20 = .57
bullets free (buddy with a tire shop gave me 500 lb's wheel weights)
gc = .028 X 20 = .56
primers are .03 x 20 =.60
brass I don't know how to price it has been loaded so many times.

so that works out to $1.73 a box for some very accurate ammo.
just something to think about.also shooting cast bullets no problem sizing the bullet to fit the bore.some of the war time mosins have a .314 bore .
