Was at the range today and somebody left this paper plate target up at 50 yards. It looks like he happened to hit it about twice with what looked to be about .22. Not wanting it to go to waste, I whipped out my Finn Mosin Nagant M39, and loaded up 5 of my reloads using 48 grains of IMR 4895 and a 147 grain FMJBT bullet. Now do I attribute this to a fine rifle, wonderful reloads, a good eye on my part? How about all of the above!

I'm just glad that my reloads did so well. Never have gotten a group like this using any milsurp.

I had one better, but the fifty yard range was closed that day, so I was shooting my Finn capture 91/30 SA stamped barreled Mosin on a 25 yard range, using Russian light ball milsurp. This was the very first five bullets I shot in it.

I since took the brass punch and hammer to the front sight, and now the windage is right on.

Never equaled a group like that again, but it proves if the gods are with me, I can.

The first target was using my reloads. The second target was using the dreaded green lacquered Czech light ball.
