Another less than intelligent induhvidual throwing away his family history. Guy from work wanted party money for Christmas break from O.S.U.(Ohio) told me he had a old gun he wanted to sell for $350.00. I told him I'd come over and look (he has already sold me 3 jap. n.c.o. swords to fund his last spring break) pictured is what he sold me with holster cleaning rod spare firing pin and unopened pack of ammunition in front pocket. He is slowly selling his grandfathers w.w. 2 bring backs so he can party. He likes guns and shooting but if it is not new and plastic he thinks it's trash. Hate to say this but I kinda hope he stays stupid till after he sells me the last 2 he has.

This is what happens more often than we think. I shudder to think of the stuff that was outright thrown away. I'm glad to see this excellent example was grabbed by a collector rather than a dealer... who would have haggled the price down to $100 & a 5th of booze. SW

Good idea NebrHogger, but I don't want him to go somewhere else first. His grandfather really high graded what he brought back and there is still has a type 14 nambu and a Arisaka rifle with matching numbers, the chrysanthemum,dust cover, monopod, with the a.a. flip down sight wings. I will treat these the way they should be, and remember his grandfathers service to this country. When they get passed on they will go with their history intact and attached for their next care taker.

I'm glad you go it. I bought a T44 and a T14 pistol about like this one from a grandson who wanted them to go to a collector who would appreciate them. I have talked two or three out of selling.

I keep coming back and looking at this pistol. The early ones with small trigger guard are not as easy to find. I sold an unopened box of cartridges for $250, so you might want to do a little checking before opening. Some manufactures are quite rare.

How sad to think what meant so much to his Grandfather was nothing more than party money!
But how great it is to have found a home with someone who appreciates the beauty and the history.....I bet Gramps is giving you a big thumbs up.
