The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username. If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7. Thanks for joining us from the administration.

so can anybody make me a shopping list and a how to for reloading my own ammo (or loading for that matter)? I have never loaded ammo before so I am unsure how to go about it.

How many rounds do you intend to shoot in a year?

Reloading, IMHO, is only for guys who shoot a 'lot', or have oddball rifles.
Japanese 6.5 or 7.7 ammo is available now from Grafs.com and others at reasonable prices.

There are several books available on reloading, buying one would be a good place to start.

You are right where I was years ago, I wanted to load Japanese cartridges. I got to know a man here that reloaded and he let me have the book "Reloading by Phil Sharpe." It was hard back and about inch and quarter thick. I devoured the whole book before I bought any tools. My suggestion to you is buy a reloading manuel. I like Hornady, but Speer others are good. Read, read, read. riceone

If you don't have any reloading tools what I would do, after getting your reloading manual, is get one of the reloading kits. Lee, RCBS and others have them and they have about everthing you need to reload. I like the RCBS kit myself.

You can buy 7.7 brass or make it from .30-06 brass by running them through the 7.7 die and trimming them after. The reloading manual gives trim length. Lee makes a nice, and cheap, trimmer. http://www.leeprecision.com/cgi/catalog/browse.cgi
