At the show in Phoenix I was privileged to see and handle this excellent Japanese copy of the M1 Garand. Late in the war the Japanese came up with this rifle and only about 125 were assembled. (so I am told). This is an excellent example in like new condition. If I remember right it was serial number 9.

neet , is that what would have been used in the T99 ?

im wondering if they thought they would be used against the invasion ? or did they develope these before they realised the war was not going their way ?

Same ammo at the T99. Best information I have is there were 125 assembled late in 1945. Had the war lasted another year they could have had enough in service to make a difference. If I had one I would not shoot it for fear of breaking something I could not replace. riceone.

i hear you on protecting that one , its a true holy grail for sure , id heard of these but never seen one , or even such a great photo , its interesting they used their own backsight ,
so esentialy they were still very much in play when this got developed , but were out of that and into "last ditch" before production could get up and running ?

I heard a while back about someone shooting one of these & it blew up. I think they were a long way from having a semi-auto they could use.
With a $30K price tag, that was a costly mistake!
