This is my only sniper at present. Over the years I've had a number of T-99 & T-97 snipers. Now I'd like to find a nice T-97 to add to this - a Minty Kokura would be ideal. The big mystery on these is why are all the scopes mismatched to the rifle? A few have been "reunited" thanks in large part to the efforts of Victor Soto (Yoda) who has been keeping records on snipers for many years now. One T-99 sniper I always wish I'd have kept was Nagoya S/N 43. It was ground, but fully matched & had a refinished stock (beautifully done, if that's possible - it still had crisp edges on all the fullers, etc. It was a beautiful beechwood stock). I bought it for $35 at a local pawn shop in about 1968. If only foresight could be as clear as hindsight. Anyway, this is what I have now. You'll see I have two scope cases. One is just waiting for my future T-97. Both have the lens brushes & one has the string & lens cloth.




One point I might make on these T-99 Snipers is that I don't think any of the Nagoya snipers ever had dust covers. Their features fit with those of late 5th & early 6th series rifles and I believe the dust cover was deleted by then. Another piece of evidence for my thinking this is the case is that a dust cover would have covered the Arsenal marking as well as the S/N.

Thanks! Just to clarify what "cutback" means - look at the rear of the scope base. It has apx. 1/4" machined away to accomidate the smaller base of the 2.5X scope. The full base rifles are meant for the 4X scope.
