Years ago a company advertised in Shotgun Nws that marketed many kinds of pistol grips apparently cast in "plastic " from originals. On the Japanese grips available, Papa and T-14 as I remember, the original grip numbers were in the interior.

In past years I made two T-14 "book ends" out of parts from junker guns. Grips were a problem since original grips command a premimum price and I have less than $10 in each "pistol." At the Lakeland show I ran across two sets of the "plastic" grips, first I've seen in years and bought both sets for $10. In examining them it is evident they came from two different molds/sets of grips as the internal numbers are different and they are made and fit slightly differently.

My first (and incomplete) T-14 had plastic grips and this was in the mid 70s. Paid $75, about $70 above what it was worth, spent another $75 or so completeing it and ended up selling it for $90 as I remember, experience can be a hard teacher. I had forgotten about these grips until I saw them at the show. I have to wonder why two different groups would think there was a demand for plastic T-14 grips unless there was a large import of Papas and 14s w/o grips and I don't remember such an event happening?

I just got a set of the repro plastic grips for the Type-94 from the central Florida firm and they look good. They need a bit of fitting work but that's ok and the thing I like best about them is that they are marked on the inside with the company’s product line number. Very supprised there is still a demand for plastic grips. Can see such for the 94, but there are folks thst make excellent wooden grips for the 14. Thanks for the info.
