The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username. This one is for the Japanese experts. Look at this rifle I found listed at GB, the seller has it listed as a type 38 but its got a folding bayonet and aircraft sights that are not at all like the ones on any of my rifles.

Is this one for real or something that has been made up?

Ive been discussing it with a couple other collectors, its a neat novelty,tho I concur with don that its a fantasy gun for the most part. wierd hodge- podge of spare parts,and added features...If it was just the M/N side folder(which matches the "rack number"),Id give it more belief in a chinese conversion of some kind, but with the other additions,Id says its all made-up..would be a cool conversation piece tho, hopefully it ends up in a collection where I can play with it ..errr I mean subject it to closer inspection for a purely educational purpose,yeah,yeah thats it.

I will leave this up to the experts, but I would have leaned towards a Chinese post war conversion. With that Mukden stamping on the receiver top, I couldn't tell if the rifle was previously mummed and ground. Cool regardless.

I think the circular cutout additions to the useless AA arms are a definite bubba tip off.
