Would anyone be interested in a T99, 7.7 Carbine. I have some ground, miss matched rifles that I could make them out of. Price would be $250 shipped. riceone.

I think I have a matching barreled receiver and bolt around here. An odd question I guess would be can the area of the ground mum be filled and rounded over? I would then send the parts out to Bruce (unless you do it) for a nice rust blue. I would of course have to find a stock for you!

I'll look in some past posts to see if I can find some photos. Also now that I'm thinking about this would this be a good time to change the caliber (if it can) to a more common size?

Just thoughts!

Never known anyone to try to overlay the ground area, guess it could be done. Not much you can change a 7.7 to. Ammunition is cheap as any other now so really no need. riceone.

just one picture of it right now, its the third gun in the group of carbines in the top row, in one of my racks of assorted stuff. After the thrench maged t-99 its the light colored second gun. the very end carbine is a t-99 also, but its not up to the quality of Roy's work, someone just made a fantasy jungle carbine out of a TK Image

Is that area of a 99 (mum area) a special hardened area? In the Air Force and civilian world I worked at places where building up areas like that with a welder was common place on areas that had high friction and wear.

I would as well as other like to see some photos of one of your 99 carbines. I remember seeing a post long ago of them but I was unable to find it. I even went back to the sleeze board and was unable to find it.

I talked to Roy awhile ago he has not got around to posting his 99 carbine. He said he had been busy on the farm. So he said to go ahead and post mine that he made for me a year or so ago. It's a 21st. Series Nagoya with a miss matched bolt and ground mum. He did a excellent job on it and I am very pleased it's good shooter and fun to shoot. Image
