The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username. I've got a line on a 24th series 99. What I can remember is this:
Mum is ground, serial # 81804, no sight wings, hole for cleaning rod in front/bayo lug but stock not drilled out. Front sight wings are not there. The stock around the pistol grip area looks like someone took a rasp to it to shape it. It looks good and for a "C" note I think I'm gonna get it.
Any thoughts, warnings?

....well my first gut reaction when I read this was..."hmmmmif I had the $$ to play with I'd get it"...I'm limited in experience in Japanes firearms,but I dont think you'd be wasting your money...

Not suppose to have AA wings and the hole in the front with out hole in wood is a desirable trait. Chatter marks in the wrist are turn some people on. Good buy. riceone

here it is sorry for the delay

The bolt,firingpin,saftey and bayonet lug match. Anything else supposed to be serial #ed? Sorry about the feet!!

Ken, have you priced ammo for this yet? I have a Type 99 that spends most of its time sitting in the safe. Unless you reload, ammo is not cheap. Try Graf & Sons for their Hornaday ammo. I got spoiled from buying 30-06 in bulk from CMP.
