Ain't much I can tell about this pistol as people seem to love or hate them. I have one and everything matches but I don't know how to take it apart. roy

I think the NRA handgun guide has take down instructions. I've had a couple of these ( sold them years ago ) and they are not a death sentence to fire. The cartridge is weak, though. SW

I've had my pistol a looooooong time and did take it apart when I first got it but have no need to now., These pistols have gotten a bad press. True by the standars of an Army 45 its a weak cartridge but its on par with a 380 or 32 and lots of those were used in WW1 and WW2. The exposed sear bar has to be pressed in hard o make it fire rather that just sitting on it as some have said.

Those are the ugly ducks of the Japanese pistol world. I like mine but I will not shoot it only because I don't believe it ever has been fired. I cleaned the cosmo off it when I got it. And as Roy stated you really have to push on that bar to get it to go bang.

I need to one of these days find a late war wood grip one for the collection and to shoot it a few times. Also they seem to have been made for smallish hands with that grip.

What is the month code? I see the year code but don't see a month code in the photo. Serial number is in the 19.5 range. Good looking Type-94 and yes I'm one of those guys who like them. :)

At the price of ammo I have only fired one of my 14's. I have just recently put together a basket case 14 that will be my shooter and once I dig out the brass and powder i might try to reload.

I just need a set of wood grips for the 14 shooter pistol.

why don't you make the grips yourself?
if its a shooter and not part of a collection...
I made a pair years ago for a friend, used rich rosewood and inlayed his initials in silver, they looked like a million bucks.

I have been thinking about that. My problem is after 17 years as a custom woodworker I tend to want perfection and they are simple grips I would like to see correct era (early small ring) grips on it. I don't know, maybe after I get some ammo loaded up I might just put the crappy plastic grips that came with the box of parts.

Decisions decisions.

You can find repro wood grips on the major gun related auction sites for around $65 to $75 or for a shooter you might want to try a set of repro grips from http://www.gungrip.com/detail_WW94__6.html
