A friend found these in Japan on a market
He's not back yet so I can't tell you what the stamp is but these clips are NOT for rifle ammunition, instead a 8mm nambu round fits just fine. annyone seen these before?
done a search on the internet and found nothing about their existence

They look just like the strippers for the early Steyr-Haun M11/M12 pistols. If I could find my ammo for mine I can check the shell base. I don't know maybe if the Japanese had strippers for their sub gun?

the look like the stripper clips that came with my 9mm steyr ammo, too. you can still find it at shows sometimes, comes 2 stripper clips to a box. 9mm steyr and 8mm nambu may have the same size base, as the nambu ammo is bottlenecked. y'all have a good day, Keith

If I'm not mistaken the Japanese used a few German Mauser pistols, not many, and a captured Chinese Mauser pistol might have been brought back by a Japanese soldier at some point .

The Styer Haun is another pistol that made its way into the inventory of several militaries. Some were used by Mexico and for that matter some Jap rifles were used by Mexico.

Could have been from a civilian owned pistol.

I wonder if any of the gallery practice Nambu training rifle cartridges were loaded by stripper clip.

My vote is Mauser Broom handle stripper clips.
