Okay, Enfield mavens - try not to laugh too hard at my expense - I know zero point nothing about Enfields. Never owned one - got no plans to do so. But I found a pic of a Carcano bayonet on an Enfield and am in need of enlightenment The bayonet is attached to a lug, right? I've never held one of these - for all I know the barrel sits that low. Maybe. Heck, I just don't know. Then. What diameter is the bayonet attachment point for use with an issue Brit bayonet? This will hopefully give me something to look for at gun shows. A pic showing this model with Brit bayo mounted would be helpful, too. (Ain't ignorant folks wonderful? ) SW zBayonet2.jpg [ 119.73 KiB | Viewed 4518 times ] |

"...The bayonet is attached to a lug, right? ..." yes , the muzzel ring is on a round front lug of the boss [below the barrel] and the rear is slid onto a 'T' shaped lug ar the rear of the boss , lock is at the rear just like your carcano this is a no 1 rifle or SMLE , proably a turk modification ???? |

That's a good start - what's the ID of the muzzle ring on the right bayonet? I need a measurement to compare against an Italian bayo. SW |

we are in the midst of moving the office , all of my referances are packaged and stored and all of my bayos/rifles are packed and locked up at another site , but i found this on one of my saved sites - "The muzzle ring of the P1913 is also only 0.61" as opposed to the P1907's which is 0.65"." |
