Quick update:
My fancy-schmanzy German eyepiece with eyesight correction & a dialable iris is just too fat to fit. So, as I couldn't raise the bridge so I lowered the creek with a really tall front-sight blade so now it does!

I'm utterly stuck with swapping the front sights on my '44 Lithgow! I've tried everything lubes, freezing, heating & freezing the blade & heating the mount & so on. The old one (which now has a snapped blade ) is refusing to complete leaving the dovetail, its about 1/2 way out but that's it! Does anyone have a Front sight pusher (cramp) that I can buy, borrow, rent or anything else, long enough to get this blade out & the new replacement back in? |
