Yep! the .22 Morris tube insert finally got fitted & the RF bolt matched to the 1914 BSA ShtLE rifle after over a year of trials & tribulations,.
I can't wait to try her at the range.
We're still working on fitting a globe target front sight to go with the A.G.P. #9W rear ,but it should be perfectly usable with the existing blade for now.
I have some "Remington Thunderbolt" Hi speed (yeah, I know but the 10-22 loves the stuff so I'll give it a chance) plus some high velocity & standard velocity CCI, so we'll see which she prefers. I'm rather hoping the std vel CCI will be good because its marginally subsonic, clocking in at 1070 FPS, & will be interesting to check out.

that did turn out right fine sir , you should enjoy that one a lot , basically all i have left of my enfield collection now is the 22cal trainers , i dont expect to give them up any time soon , i enjoy shooting them a lot - do tell us how yours works out at the range :jmp: :jmp: :jmp: :jmp:

Gladly, its going to be a couple of weeks though.

so may i assume your retaining the original bolt and can convert back to 303 should you ever want to ? the reason i ask is that when i made the conversion for my springfield 3006 M1903 it was a permanent conversion involving a chamber ream that fitted the M1922 bolt ,

ive not tried one of these conversions , all my trainers were either purpose built or ROF conversions and are permanent - no going back ,

Yes, all drop in & removable. The bolt & magazine shown in front of the rifle are the .303 ones.
The tube including the chamber & bore, is hidden down inside the .303 bore, the bolts & heads just swap over from rim-fire, off center, to centered .303.
Both bolts have been fitted to this individual rifle. Headspace, over-clocking & bolt lug engagement are all fine.
There's a locking nut & a (temporary for now) spacer at the muzzle, all you do is pull the bolt, drop the magazine shell, unscrew the nut & push the tube out through the bolt channel.
The mag isn't functional, its a single shot, but the box sans follower & spring becomes a brass catcher, extracted fired cases just fall down into it.

I just did a little detail cleanup on the wood, specifically the butt.
There are 2 really dark, grimy areas I'd like to clean up enough to see the grain.
the wrist/pistol grip area & the end grain by the butt plate.
I used some muphy's on an old toothbrush in just those areas & am re-oiling it with a little Stand Oil (Original boiled, not the new chemical drying stuff, BLO).
When it finally dries I'll get some beginning & end images up. It's significantly improved from its original "La Brea Tar Pits Special" condition!

Finally got pics.
I think this is pretty much it, I like to think I didn't "over prettify" it, just cleaned & repaired damaged bits & sorted the filthy gritty oily stock.

i think that turned out perfect , as you said - not overcleaned , i hate seeing folks bleech , steam out dents , then restain and pretend its anything like what it was , id rather it still show a bit of grime and oil stain , you did a great job on this one ,

i can relate to the family stuff , its changed a lot of my winters plans so far , i hope you get out soon and enjoy it , this thread has me thinking to plan for taking mine out for a spin , life has a way of getting in the way , we need to enjoy these things while we can

we get a lot in march and april here even if its milder , we just started another week of subzero , lucky us - canceled both events planned for our range this weekend , double digit subzero Windchill's
