These are not classified as a milsurp collectible as they are made up rifles done by Gibbs and have no military connection whatsover.

don , its a real ishy rifle , it just got reconfigured/sported into its present form [they were never a milsurp in this form] and so its not a C&R anymore , but im sure it will be fun and a nice shooter , my 2A1 was an excelent shooter ,

this will become like the santa fe rifles , in the future a nice sported military rifle that collectors will grab up just to have ,

i think someone needs to discuss bushidos camera with him , its been a while after all , ive restrained myself - i know he has things that would be photogenic , lets see some


oh - and yes don , we need to see this gem , im thinking it will be great fun for you at the range , and you can let mikey shoot it to stave off the onslaught of purchase orders

i was going to comment on her lovely smile as well , and yes that looks like a very nicely done ishy , well worth the price , it should be great fun

Don has a nice looking rifle and paid a fair market rate for it and the purpose of this reply is not to in anyway lessen the pleasure he has from acquiring this rifle. However, I don't want anyone to be confused and believe this rifle was made this way by some military force.

I do believe that the rifle shown was never made in that configuration. It is an aftermarket cut down of an Ishapore Rifle, 7.62mm, 2A1. The flash hider was added after the barrel was shortened and the rear sight was never removed.

True No.5 carbines and their variants have the rear sight on the rear of the receiver.

Ishapore did experiment with making a 303 carbine in the 1950's but it never got past a few examples. In these cases the rear sight was mounted on the receiver.

Awhile back the US market was flooded with the RFI marked (JC) bayonets! They fit just like the Brit made ones and are a lot cheaper. They are nice and they do show up on fleebay but beware some sellers are selling them as Brit made when they are not.

I have 2 or three around here some where's and if needed I can photo an RFI and a Brit one if some one wants to see them.
