I am trying to restore a nice No. 5 that was attacked by Bubba Importer back in the 60's in Canada. I read in the manual that the FH is held on by taper pins. Which way do I drive them out?

Quoting from "Stratton, British Enfield Rifles, Volume 2"

The flash eliminator pins are 0.11" diameter by 0.75" long tapered pins thatpass through the flash eliminator and engage slots on the top of the barrel. The pins are inserted from right to left.

From Skennerton SAIS the pins are No.0000, 0.108" X 0.75"

yup , i was gonna say left to right to remove ,

update - lawrence ordnance has these and NOS no5 bbl assembly complete at this time

My barrel is in awesome shape just that the lug was ground down, handguard tossed & the rear sling loop ground by a Canadian Importer to make a "Sporter"
