I just got my hands on a #5 Jungle carbine. I need to get some technical data on it to see if the barrel has been shortened. What is the correct length for the barrel.

it is 18.7 inches [20.5 inches with the flash supressor] and its a 5-groove 1:10 left hand twist ,

it has the cuts and the barrel is the correct lenght. The rifle also has the markings BMP on the barrel and reciever.

I suspect the marking on the barrel and receiver is "BNP" and not "BMP"

BNP would be the Birmingham Nitro Proof mark applied when the weapon was re-proofed for the civilian market.

OOPS. Your right, guess I need to get a magnifing glass for those small leters. Thanks for the info.

It has a perfect bore! I used bore foam and pulled a snake through one time and the bore is mirror smooth and bright. I cant wait to shoot this one.
