thanks duane for jumping in , i hope you come back and post the rest , i hope neil will post his as well , and all the rest of you too - it was my bright idea , guess i can contribute ......... as most of you know i like the older ones , but have some of the newer as well , older ones first left-to-right - and top-to-bottom here 1902 BSA MLE mkI* / P1888 bayonet & scabord 1905 LSA SMLE mkI*** / P1903 bayonet & scabord 1892 EFD MLM mkII - cond II 1912 22cal trainer -top to bottom here 1915 BSA SMLE mkIII / P1907 hooked quillon bayonet & scabord 1910 BSA SMLE cond 1921-26 no2 mkIV* 22 cal trainer / P1907 mkII wo clearing hole[early] bayonet & scabord 1942 BSA no1 mkIII* / P1907[MA 1942] bayonet & scabord this one is between the no2 and mkIII* in the cabinet - 1923 EFD SMLE mkV trials rifle / P1907 mkII w clearing hole[late] bayonet & scabord and my newer ones - right-to-left here and as noted below top- 1944 cooey mod82 22cal canadian trainer 10/47 FAZ no5 mkI / poole [1947] no5 bayonet & scabord botom-to-top - 11/48 FAZ no4 mkI / no4 nkI cruciform bayonet & scabord 1942 LB no4 mkI* / no4 mkII bayonet & M5 victory scabbord 1945 LB Cno7 mkI 22cal trainer / no4 mkIII bayonet & mkIII plastic tube scabord 10/53 FAZ no4 mk2 / no7 bayonet & scabord and no9 bayonet and scabord |

grant , IIRC arent all of yours marked to canadian service ? ive always admired your peices , this is the first time ive seen this many of your rifles in one post , thank you for submitting them , we need to start one of these for handguns as well - i know your collection would be of interest to those who have not seen them yet , lets go neil - your up |

A Square - Actually, only the Long Branch No 4 is Canadian-marked (.... militarily, at any rate.) The MLE is a commercial-production LSA set up as a private competition rifle (with a Sutherland adjustable rear sight) .... it is engraved on the buttplate: "S.V. Samuel, Toronto, Canada". The 1915 BSA SMLE is not Canadian-marked, which is something I really need to "correct" in my collection ..... The No. 5 is 6/46-dated ROF(F) production ..... Canada never acquired or issued the No. 5 (except perhaps very few for trials.) Mind you, these other Enfield-produced rifles (from my primary collecting/shooting area of interest) are all Canadian-marked ..... they just lack the 'Lee' connection ..... |
