We can't neglect the French when flaunting our long weapons. This little number is all matching including the stock. Can you believe it is the second one in my collection? The other not nearly as nice as this one without any martial markings at all. |

Not many French stuff here. I only have an 1892 artillery carbine as sent to Italy in the dark days of WW1. Pics when I can find it. SW |

Et2ss, I get brass for all of these old dogs from Buffalo Arms. I can't remember it this french Gras brass is Bertram (read expensive) or made by BACO from something else? I shoot paper patched lead through them. Both of my carbines shoot my loads about 18" high @ 100 yds. I have made an extra tall front sight which is a good work around. Maybe they need that long Chassepot bayonet hanging from the muzzle to keep shots down! |
