The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username. I have been thinking of changing the butt stock on one of my Mas 49's to the look of this

Maybe someone here has an idea or a connection for this.

The Mas 49 I'm using is one that came with the scope and extras. I'm not really sure as to the correct name of the set up to begin my search unless MSE 49 is correct?

The photos I have seen like the first photo show the wood to be the same as my rifles fore stock so it looks like a match might be possible.

I was able to connect with the owner of the first photo and he stated that the MSE 49/56 was built by the French govt (and still used but converted to 7.62) but the Mas49 with the stock was built by himself just using the stock from the MSE 49/56.

Now I will be patient and look for the setup as it looks better then a standard Mas49 and the Mas49 I have is my odd ball with the launcher parts not installed. I did think about building or modifying the stock but the MSE stock is longer and has the other goodies on it.

But if anyone has the right connection let me know

I would leave it original, I like the way it looks.Plus I don't think modifiying it will help the value any.

Its just a thought right now unless a set shows up!!

I have other Mas rifles so it would not bother me to change this one over to the other look and I think it looks better and more comfortable to shoot with the scope setup.
