Just a photo or two of the Nazi marked French pistolas. I found in my small collection that my two Nazi marked pistols are B and C prefix. A is the only war time that is not Nazi marked? And I think some place in the D range they were Nazi marked?

I need my A and D!!

Thanks

They would be even better if they were in a caliber that was available!

They are 7.65 French long also known as the old .30 Pederson from the 1903 mark 1 days.

Here is a comparison of ammo

Image

7.62x25mm on left. 7.65 French center and right is 32acp.

My idea is make them out of 30 Carbine brass and bullets. The bullets are the same but the carbine have that tapered casing :?

I had one of these many many years ago. I never found a source of the proper ammo, but mine handled regular .32 ACP with no problems so long as no more than five rounds were loaded in the mag. It did hit far to one side though but put its bullets in a fairly tight group.

I looked into making ammo for it.
The method that seemed most promising was to trim and turn an extractor groove into .32 S&W Long revolver casings.

A method for converting to .32 ACP only was also suggested.
A spacer was cut from a steel .30 Carbine hull, lock tight painted on the outside surface of the spacer which was then inserted on the end of a .32 ACP cartridge. When fired the spacer was pressed tight to the chamber walls, and apparently stayed in place. Handloads using just a hair more Bullseye than the regular ACP loads would insure proper functioning. Turning down the rim of the ACP hull was also suggested.

Like I said Mine worked fine with .32 ACP regular loads, so it may have had a weak spring. The larger rim didn't cause any jamms, but it did damage the hole where the pivot pin of the loaded chamber indicator went through.

Gun Nut

Thanks for the info! I still have not found the true answer to this question other then to hope someone starts making some new ammo. I have tried just about all the French ammo I have found for them and all the primers are duds.

I did some time ago bought a few hundred rounds of new primed and unprimed 32 S&W long brass, bullets and reloading dies. Up until now I could not remember why and maybe this was the reason.

If I had the means I would still try the 30 carbine turn down but as all the others it's a lot of work. I think I did check and found that the carbine ball is near perfect. So just make the brass work! Maybe.

Several years ago, there was a write up in the Rifleman about making the 30 Frog ammo from 30 carbine. Of course I can't find it now. SW

I have mic'ed out 30 carbine and 32 s&w long and found both to be useable (i think). The nice part about the 30 carbine is the bullet is the correct size and weight to be used as the French bullet.

Still working on it as time allows.

I don't think the .30 carbine bullet is the best choice. The Carbine cartridge is a fairly high pressure loading and the Carbine bullet jackets would be fairly hard to avoid stripping into the rifling at those velocities. A bullet this hard may cause excessive pressures in the lower powered pistol cartridge.
