No indication from which part of Africa this pic originated, but it's clearly a Beretta SMG - now in use as a child's toy. As rough as it looks, you wouldn't have to twist my arm too hard to convince me it will still run.

No telling how much Italian ordnance is still laying around East Africa and the desert. SW

I had one with the bolt removed in the 50"-60's, but with the fluted barrel. Don't know what happened to it.

Italy left Somalia and Etyopia on 1941 and this model was introduced on 1944, so this is not a war relic, perhaps a more recent acquisition.
