The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username. I realize this is quite a stretch, but myself and a friend in Italy are researching the little-known maker of Carcanos, Napoleone and Vittorio Castelli of Brescia.

That maker's mark is shown below on a moschetto. While others were doubtless made, this is presently the only known moschetto with NeVCB marks.

If any of you lurkers possess or know of one, please post the serial number and pics if possible.

Presently, only 20 TS and my moschetto are known to exist.

Lo & behold, another one showed up on gunborker. A bit more than I like to pay, but only 22 of these are known to exist. They are all in Europe. The markings didn't look right so I messed around enlarging the seller's pics. Yep! NeVCB!!!

I'd rather be lucky than good!! :bigrin:

Better pics of the markings. The serial number is unusual = M0000. The same number is lightly EPed nearby. MM stock. The readable stock cartouche is somewhat unusual. This stock was on a Terni TS. I can't quite make out the date on it.

The whole shootin' match has been soaked in cosmo which is consistent with the CAI import mark.

The barrel flats have been milled clean except for Brescia and NVCB. No date under the receiver ring.

A prominent collector & author in Italy only has 22 TS by Castelli in his considerable data base. We now know there are at least 23!

Always examine markings closely when cruising the auctions! :bigrin:
