Colonial artillery troops. I like the "sand traction devices" on the duals. Ingenious and a lot cheeper than making a dedicated half track.

Having enlarged the pic, I believe these are Brits stacking captured Italian rifles. And wouldn't I like to be rooting through them! These were either sent to India for police use or as trainers or to Palestine for Jewish Settlement Police to use in their conflict against Arab extremists like the followers of Yassir Arafat. ( murdering bastage that he was) SW

from your pictures/posts i get the feeling the eye-ties went into WWII thinking it was WWI ?

i realize there were third world countries back then , was itlaly one of them ?

its something i had never thought about much , i know many countries were drug into the war without much say , but i always thought of mussilini's italy as a major cog in the axis wheel ,

i know he was a blowhard and got what he deserved , i did not know he was such a minor player in terms of technology of the times ,

or am i getting this all wrong ?
