Visited my local LGS to see if he still had the second cavalry carbine, and he does.. As I said before he also has a Finn carcano In 7.35 with an SA sling.. He also has this rifle, it almost seemed to clean.. What do you guys make of it, and is the 215 asking price worth it??

It isn't too bad. The sling looks legit. Looks like it's all there. The bayo lug and front sling swivel are very hard to find any more.

On the minus side, it has been sanded. That's always a deal killer for me, but if you just want a shooter, this one should do all right.

215 is about top of the market for one in this condition. You could always practice your "I'm so poor I can't pay attention" facial expression and politely ask if he has any room on the price.

6,5 cal M38s in excellent, original condition are very hard to find and very expensive when you do. SW

I thought it had been sanded as well, but could not find any sand/brush marks.. It almost looked like an unissued polish m44 mosin.. Like I said almost too clean, it threw up a red flag for me.. On the flip side the other Calvery has a great bore and I think it will come home with me soon.

So is this actually in 7.35? I see the 6.5 on the rear sight. Makes me curious.
