Here we see a very unusual M91/28. Firstly, it was made in 1939... when arsenals were cranking out nothing but fixed sight 7,35 rifles. M38s only. It has a walnut stock. Beretta had a supply of walnut on hand for sporting shotguns, and some of that was used on military arms.
I've never seen it used by any other arsenal. Then there's the brass TURAZZINI buttplate attachment. I plugged that into google-fu & got nothing but people's names. No ships or battles so named.
At first I thought it might be a retirement gift for some senior management person at FNA... BUT! When I took the action from the stock for pics, under the wood was hidden a navy "Crusader Shield".
So this could also be a retirement gift for a navy officer? It's all speculation at this point. I live for obscure stuff like this!!

This shows how the brass plate was attached. Appears to have been soldered on and appears to have been there a very long time.
